A lot of people say that technical analysis only deals with the past. But what really mat s is not the record in the past, It's what has happened in the future and then thea implications i can draw for the present and the near future. I just identified an edge when condition, when condition a has historically existed. And i can place a bet on that with correct position sizing, manage my risk. That is the kind of the essence of technical, quantitative trading. If i don't go back, i going to make my decisions on otherwise, i can't made my decisions on the future. it's unknown.
