Long Island Lighthouse
Wood island lighthouse is in sako bay, main. When it was first built, it was a one story home with measurements of 17 by 26 feet. It's known as the second oldest lighthouse in maine. Thomas Orcott orcott served as keeper from 18 86 to 19 o, five. He started almost 80 years after the lighthouse was originally built,. and he moved on the island along with his little dog. In 18 73, a fog tower was built near the lighthouse, and a 13 hundred pound bell placed inside. And even though there were no ships around at the time, an sailor would ring the bell for himself.
