The Death of Globalization
The dream of globalization back when China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001 has proved very naive. What's happened is that countries like China have benefited enormously from global trading systems, but then they've used all the benefits to project their own political system on the rest of the world. It was a vision that we'd all be trading together, wonderful democracies all trading together from having adopted this Western style of democracy, but that hasn't been the case.
