John McCain: I have a hard time believing that if we went back, all of a sudden, they would not be nominating more women and people of color. He says the makeup of our legislature now has largely been due to increased representation of women in Congress. The Republican Party came to the conclusion in 2020 about female candidates being electable at particular times, he says. But no, he does not think with a more less participatory process that we would have, you know, the same or more diversity.
