There are no close mikes on the toms or snare, just left and right overheads. This allows for a more natural drum sound that doesn't get swallowed up in cymbals. The downside is that i do hear a disconnect between the feel of the drums and thefeel of the cymbals when he's playing them normally. I would rather have that than have this sort of handicapped version of dave groll you know, yes.
