The Teals in the 2022 Election
Teal candidates were accused of being fake independence, secret Labour stooges, puppets, groupies as John Howard labelled them. The nation has voted for change, and in particular, stronger climate action. They were campaigning on issues that the so-called moderate liberals had failed to do anything about. Party no longer reflects the small-el liberal values of electorates like Keong. It's moved too far to the right. These independence were often labelled socially progressive but fiscally conservative.
