The only place where we're going to win that fight in the public's heart and mind is in the cash that they already use. Rowan: I think you find a common ally in most crypto people who care about, you know, private civil liberty preserving cash. But then where's the support for the e-cash act?Rowan: Some leaders of the Democratic Party are very much anti-crypto. They want to ban this stuff,. So what we see is if you want to degrade the power of the banking class with the central bankers, we need an alternative to a fiat only apparatus as well. People can store their value in it.

Rohan Grey is an assistant professor at Willamette University College of Law and has been involved in the world of politics and government as it relates to our public money systems.

You might remember him as the guy behind the STABLE Act (Stablecoin And Bank Licensing Enforcement) which turned into an episode we did with him in December of 2020.
