Acog and s m f m have traditionally supported the idea of withholding medication unless blood pressures were at or above one 60, over one o five. Participants were then randomized to receive anti hyperten medications or to have treatment withheld until the development of severe hyper tension. This caused a reduced com and incidents of pre clamsu wofh severe features, a reduction in medically indicated pre term birth at less than 35 weeks ustation,. A decrease in placental abruption, and here's the big in, a decrease in fetal or neonatal death.
