Milton's Paradise Lost

In 1637, Milton composes what many scholars consider to be his first major work. The pastoral elegy is a 193 line poem of a regular rhyme written in English, not Latin. This is incorporated into a 1638 collection of elegies for this young man, Edward King. Most of the poems are these sort of, they imitate, they basically imitate a John Donne.
