The Transcendence of Meditation

meditation is not a major part of my life at the moment, although it is because its effects are still with me. I believe that pursuing meditation for something like a decade, reaching a peak of meditation in the Himalayas, in fact, and then coming down from that mountain. Am I simply deluding myself about that transformation? It have happened anyway through a process of maturation, perhaps. If I were to actually believe that I had contacted let's say Terrence McKenna's psychedelic machine elves who live within the DMT experience  I think many people are going to identify that as a form of delusion, of fantasy, perhaps even a form of psychosis.
