How to Survive for Decades in the Markets
The value of trend following is that we can do this over 150 markets or however many markets there are. It's the respect for risk and not getting very emotional attached, emotionally attached to any one strategy which allow you to survive for decades in the markets. If you look back at my first experience with equity market shocks it was in 1987, mid-maintenance age before I was 60. That's why it's worked in our book for 800 years. The truth is that the systems are not that great in any one market.
