With caesar dead, new figures became bastions of power and authority in the capital. The mob dearly loves caesar for a whole host of reasons. But things would not remain cordial for long as he was succeeded by his great nephew Octavian. As caesar died, a return to civil war loomed until three days later when pompey's body arrived at the curia. And so thanks to this famous assassination podcast, we have saved another day for another show on fifteenth century Roman history.
