Is There a Future for Cryptography?

I found it very interesting and, you know, had a drive to do it. So I did one which was an attempt to implement a simplified version of eternity or the distributed web. The point was that there'd be a hard to censor, like to take down because they should stay there for a long period of time. In terms of privacy though, at what point and cryptography. Do you think early on in maybe university or right after university you thought of this is maybe your life's work?
