How Do You Map the Universe of Biology?
In the way pathology works, it's mostly two dimensional. We take five micron slices with a microtome of a tissue sample and we lay them out on the slide. And really it's the x, y coordinate that you're mostly worried about preserving. But what we've done as we've replaced the florescent colors that we would normally use as our dyes with d and a tags can be collected and analyzed on an iluminous sequencer at very low cost per data point and very high throughput. So region by region, cell by cell, we hid it with light, we collect those samples for analysis,. Then we have a data pipe line that can map each little experiments
