Baby A was a baby boy, allegedly murdered at one day of age on June 8, 2015. He and his twin sister were delivered early because his mother was suffering from dangerously high blood pressure. They both weighed right under four pounds at birth and were thought to be doing well. Almost immediately following birth, baby A began grunting, which is a sign that a baby is struggling to breathe. Lucy became the designated nurse for baby A 26 minutes later, she called for a doctor to the baby's incubator. An on-call consultant was also alerted. In this context, an on- call consultant refers to a specialized medical professional who is responsible for providing out-of-hours emergency care
