Dementia - What Is Delirium?
Esther Cash, president of the American D'Alene Society: Delirium is an acute disorder of attention and cognition. She says it can also be very confusing to detect when patients have cognitive impairment or dementia. Encephalopathy actually would include delirium, but also comatose patients; that's a little bit different.
