I think about this when i think about how people consume news, often a little bit out of context. I think one downside of consuming a lot of news is that people tend to think that the anomalous is normal. That gives people a warped outlook on how the world really operates. And i'm curious whether you think that celebrity gossip is another version of that,. in a way, that you're consuming this information that is inherently anomalous because the stars are not just like us.
