The Justices' Discussion of the Automatic Stay of District Court Litigation
The justices were pretty evenly divided, I would say. Some of the justices were very concerned about the financial pressures on coin based and other defendants to settle cases. Other judges were more in line with the plaintiffs here and the users who were saying there's no specific statute that authorizes an automatic stay. And this is more or less a policy question.
