Florence Maybrick was found guilty of poisoning her husband James in 1889. The jury deliberated for just 38 minutes before finding her guilty. She was sentenced to hang by her neck until she was dead. Her two children were taken in by relatives during the entire inquest and trial, never permitted to see them again.
