The French Revolution, a History
Some of the most famous lines of non-fiction in the English language were written about 13 Vande-Mier. The Scottish author Thomas Carlisle largely adopted that inaccurate narrative crafted by royalists. In 1837, Carlisle published the French Revolution, a history which is probably the most culturally significant English-language book ever written on the topic.
