The Importance of Personas in Performance

I imagine all personalities to an extent are our performance. Is there more pressure when you're a queer performer? I think I'm aware of sometimes having to make myself acceptable. Particularly when I started out as a stand-up, I felt that there were times when I had to explain myself in a way that a lot of performers wouldn't have to. And that's what, like you say, like seeing Freddie Mercury being so like, just grand, vibrant and just unapologetic is fantastic.
