What You Reflect Makes a Difference
"What you reflect is linked inextricably to your theoretical orientation and why you reflect it," he says. "It's generally better to reflect at or a bit below their intensity level, something like you're a little discouraged." He adds that an amplified reflection may help a client reconsider an extreme position but only spoken with no hint of sarcasm or criticism in the tone of your voice. 'I think this might be a good place for me,' she responds.
