Toasters

Toasters were definitely popular in homes when the first sliced bread came around. It took until the 19 thirties for sliced bread to be really popular. Apparently, wonder cut bread was one of the first hip brands. But there was this like, slow progression toward americans thinking a loaf of bread that's already fully sliced is normal. And in the meantime, they already had a toaster, possibly with no protection around it, just sitting on their table.
