Edwin and Marcia were awakened by the disembodied crying of an old woman in the dining room. Father Joseph Wood contacted MBC radio station, who asked if they could cover his story. Edwin refused at first as he didn't want any exposure to the media. But when a news crew from Chicago's WMAQ approached him about it, Ed agreed. Their work led to the first U.S. television broadcast of an exorcism.
