Is There a Powerful Motivation to Act?
People can and do act even when they believe their actions probably won't make much of a difference. I think thinking that one's action could make a big difference, that we don't know that it won't, can be a powerful motivation to act. Even the possibility, even if it's the slimmest possibility, of a world, for instance, with race, but without reacism may be a powerful motivator.
