The Diversity of the City of Montreal

In Montreal there are 30,000 people with borderline personality disorder you know we see a tiny fraction of that so basically it has the same prevalence as individuals with schizophrenia. I don't have the numbers to say exactly about the diversity in terms of the clinical population that we see but I can say that there is a fair degree of diversity probably not fully representing the full diversity accurately of the city. BPD although it occurs across all ethnicities and socioeconomic backgrounds it is more likely because of family history and genetic risk to be more commonly associated with people in lower socioeconomic statuses than other psychiatric disorders.
