Do You Think the Descents in the Dred Scott Case Did Work?

Tawny was not happy about having a descent come out, and he actually engaved some chananigans to keep that from ever appearing. He tried to have the descents held back until after the majority opinion was published. And those descents really are the first, i would think, really important descents. We don't study them very much any more, because they had a short life,. in the sense of the civil war came along and made both dred scott, the majority opinions wes desents irrelevant.
