Joplin: A Reliable Workflow for Note-Taking
Joplin is an open source app that's been around for a few years now. It can sync your notes via first party service, its own Joplin cloud service, third party cloud services like Dropbox and so on. You just make your notes in Markdown and then the next day you either open it again or if it's still open from the previous day you hit a key combination to see today's page. I've never found great success with any of them. The one I did use successfully was actually similar to you. At a previous place I worked like three companies back so we're talking over a decade ago.
