The Benefits of CRRT in Acute Liver Failure
There is a very clear correlation between hyperaminemia and cerebral edema, which you only get in acute liver failure. There's no documented benefit of using CRRT early for ACLF patients. The exception would be if you're bridging somebody to a transplant, particularly if it's imminent. In acute on chronic liver failure, these patients don't get intracranial hypertension.
