The Importance of Imagining the Future

A lot of people choose to start their analysis very recently, which coincides with a large run up in household debt and a big boom. A short data series is, doesn't allow you to do the kind of statistics that you would need to do if you're to draw those conclusions. So one way of thinking about it further is exactly to look at the data, look where it's coming, consider alternative viewpoints, and see what we think. Is this a useful way of imagining the future?
