The Institution of the Passover Feast
This chapter describes the institution of the Passover feast in which the Israelites are commanded to take a lamb without blemish, roast it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. The blood of the lamb is to be put on the doorposts and lintel of their houses as a sign for the Lord to pass over and protect them from the plague that will strike Egypt.
