The Story of Cupid and Psyche

The myth of cupid and psyche is inserted, sort of as a distraction. The earliest form of it occurs in a latin novel from the second century by a writer called apulius. A woman believes she is married to a god but her sisters convince her that he's not really a god. She finally falls into the hands of venus who inflicts several tasks on her at the beginning of the story. Anda Psyche is able to do this with the help of the golden wool of a flock of savage rams eating their reeds.
