The History of Databases
When databases first came out, they were built into the mainframe application. They had these maintenance windows where they would update. And then as the internet came to be and these systems needed to be online more, they couldn't withstand being down. So now that we need performance, we're kind of going back in the other direction. But it's just the new old stuff, right? For sure.
