The Evolution of Body Lice
Body lice transmit a lot of things, and it's thought that head lice generally don't. And also, like the ecotype thing, there's differences in their immune responses to infection when s which then would make body lice more capable of getting infected with bacteria than head lice. It wasn't necessarily like a one time divergence between the two, but like a continual divergence where headlie populations, especially like an over infestation, are feeding into body lice populations.
