The History of Gothic Architecture
There was an instant clamour to rebuild Notre Dame a few years ago. What do you think those kind of reactions tell us about the way that gothic architecture has endured? That history repeats itself for one thing, and it's nothing we haven't seen before. There were still great fiery debates and discussions over how an East End should have been rebuilt at Canterbury. We're having the same discussions now as they were a thousand years ago.
