Marriage was designed by God himself to set us free over a lifetime of the egoic operating system where everything is about my survival and my pleasure. If we're created male and female as engendered bodies, our gender itself that we are born with comes with roles and responsibilities even in God's good world. And if sexuality is far more than play for grownups, if it's the fusion of two souls and it's the regular renewal of the lifelong covenant,. then the idea of marriage and sex and even gender that we find from Genesis all the way through to Jesus is not only sensical, but I think stunning in its beauty.
