The Early Liberal Reformers, Uh, Have Their Blind Spots
The sexual revolution of the 1960s and 70s is a precursor to what we know as liberal, multiple liberal feminism. Betty Friedan at one stage argued that women should be disallowed for making the choice to be a housewife. Even John Stuart Mill had a strong sense of racial superiority when it came to black people and Asian people. As rights expand, you get in particular gender rights and sexual rights.
