Since memory physiological crying, an actor can engage and relax their facial muscles in a way that cus tears to well up. Shakespeare has some amazing moments where he guides the actor into the vocal and breath space they need to find the emotion. With a little practice, it takes one breath to get your eyes to well up, and two or three to get tears to spill down your cheeks. Even though it's been years since i used the skill, the sense memory approach is reliable. I was able to shed a few tears while frying an egg. This patnizing the technique also much safer for the performer's psychological health.
