The Soviet Union's Sexual Repression

Joseph stalen's reforms had impoverished the rural areas of the soviet union to near or complete starvation. People were so hungry during the famines of the thirties that cannibalism was not uncommon, even among families. Once they started drinking, discipline completely collapsed. It was a drunken freeforall with little to know consequences. Red army culture both enabled and passively encouraged this stuff. In the instance a soldier was punished for his sexual misdeeds, it often wouldn't be for the act of rape, but of contracting a venereal disease and diminishing his own combat effectiveness.
