Is the Right Way to Understand Why We Have High Real Interest Straits?
Real interest straits have fallen 300 or 400 basis points from te late eighties through the nineties to where they are now. And so i think it's too facile to say that if we have a another anti inflation crusade, we're going g to live in a new world of super high real interest straits. My own gas, strongly supported by the market in every industrial country, is that normal, neutral realin normal, real interstrats, are going to be much lower going forward than they were in the eighties and nineties.
