Rick Doblin and the Ecstasy Conference in Israel

Hamilton: I was invited to the first world ecstasy conference in Israel in 1999. It was because the Israeli government was a major sponsor, he says. And it was really interesting in the conference, there were these generals like, you know, in uniform in the audience. Hamilton: They were asking questions about MDMA that led me to think that they wanted to use MDMA for therapy to treat soldiers who had PTSD from war. But some of the questions that they were asking led him to think they were more interested in the efficacy of MDMA and interrogation.
