The Rise and Fall of Nightcrawler
I did a stream on a face in the crowd, which was a short story. And then later a film with by Elia Kazan, starring Andy Griffith, where he plays basically the same type of character as Beel. He's a wandering drifter who gets co-opted and he ends up making speeches exactly like Beel does at the end. I think that Nightcrawler is a kind of good example of this in the in the contemporary era because it takes the national news and takes it down to a local level.
