The Ethics of Patient Reported Outcomes Research

Dr. Melanie Calvert: There are a number of ethical concerns that have been raised regarding Piro data collection. She says patient reported outcomes are increasingly being collected both in research and in routine clinical care. Dr. Robert Gollib: Research is done to better the situation of patients, so it's therefore an obligation ethically of investigators to make sure we are serving them well.
