Every summer I go over there, I just rent a car and every weekend go off and explore new sites. And if people want to come with me great, otherwise I just often explore myself...I build this impression of all the different regions of the land and what it was like. Okay, what took place at this site or what took place in this region? What are the themes that we see going on here? Do we see the similar themes across history?"
