The Importance of Java in Distributed Databases

Silla uses Apache Cassandra, which is a very similar type of no SQL database. In fact, my understanding is that you use the same driver's exactly. The first thing that stuck out to me when I was doing some research on this was that Apache Cassandra is written in Java. Using a language like C++ at the time, allow us to do a lot of optimizations by being closer to the matter.
