Aquinas's Principle of Image Making
Aquinas believed that reality tends to create images of itself. But he said the higher you go in the hierarchy of being, the more perfect and interior this process becomes. So we would probably say corks and sub atomic particles but for him in the middle ages, the lowest level of being would be basic physical objects like rocks.
