I like what you said a lot about doing it from confidence and not insecurity. I think the reason that the rules are so difficult is because in the early stages of dating, like for example, when I met or ran into him and sent him that first initial text asking him out, he was dating other people. Like if you saying that made him be like, oh, this girl expressed interest in me, I do not want her now. That guy or that would be horrible. No one at all is mentioning the upper hand bullshit.
