Scanner.dev is an open source, Rust-based software development toolkit that lets developers write apps on top of Google's Android operating system. The team has been working to improve performance by using SIMD instructions in their CPUs and other techniques like gzip for compression. They've also found a lot of interesting things about serialization and deserialization from the Saturday sort of framework which allows them to experiment with different data formats.
