The Axman of New Orleans
A man named James Gleason was arrested. However, he was let go literally just after a couple of days of his arrests. A lot of officers still believe that the first one was done by Andrew Magia. The next axman attack came five days later on August 10th, 1918. In the early hours of the morning, Pauline and Mary Brunner were awoken to noises coming from their uncle's room. They walked in to find their uncle, Joseph Romano, slumped on the floor in a pool of his own blood following an axe attack. At this point, police couldn't deny that these attacks were probably connected because there were far too many similarities.
