The Power of Relationships in a Novel
It's encouraging to see support outside of the protagonist where she can find her people. I really wanted to build a very quirky cast of spa characters around around Joan. Part of the wonderful editing experience with my editor was taking each of these characters and really fleshing them out so that they weren't just one dimensional.
